Online transfers

Transfers between TSB accounts are made immediately if you have sufficient funds in your account. This includes weekends and public holidays.

In branch and phone transfers

Transfers between your accounts will be made during business hours if you have sufficient funds in your account.

Payments

Online payments to TSB accounts

Payments to other TSB accounts will be made immediately if you have sufficient funds. This includes weekends and public holidays.    

Online payments include;

  • One off payments 
  • Bill payments
  • New regular payments (to people or companies)

Online Payments to other banks

Online payments to customers of other banks are debited from your account immediately and sent every hour between 9.30am and 10.45pm seven days a week. Payments made after 10.45pm will be sent the next day.

The timeframe for the payment to be received by the person you’re paying is dependent on the processing times of the other bank (generally 8.30am – 12.15am Monday through Sunday))*.

Other Payment types

Automatic payments, regular online payments, upcoming online payments, and tax payments are processed twice a day at 9.30am or 10.45pm if you have sufficient funds.

If you don’t have funds available at either 9:30am or 10.45pm that day, the payment will be dishonoured.

Direct Debits are deducted when we receive them if you have sufficient funds in your account. If you don’t have available funds we’ll attempt to make the payment again at 10.45pm that day. If you still don’t have available funds at 10.45pm the payment will be dishonoured.

Payments submitted after 10.45pm will be sent the next day. 

Payments into your account

Payments from other banks are received between 9.00am and 10.45pm and are processed as soon as possible. Payments submitted after 10.45pm will be sent the next business day.

Seven-day payments

Payment types

Seven-day payments (also 365 and 7-day payments) is limited to domestic payments such as direct debits, direct credits, automatic payments, bill payments and online/mobile banking payments.

High value transactions, such as house settlements, will continue to operate under the existing ‘five business days’ model. International payments and credit card transactions are also not impacted.

Seven-day payments versus real-time payments

Seven-day payments will happen on the same day, but not instantly like “real time” payments.

Credit cards

Payments

Payments are processed on business days between 9.30am and 9.30pm and will normally reach your TSB credit card account within two hours. Payments made outside these hours will be processed on the morning of the next business day.

Available Credit

This will update once the payment has been processed.

Balance

Once the payment has been processed, your balance will be updated within two business days.
